Learning the basics of technical theatre can be a challenge when first starting out. My goal is to help lower that barrier to entry by gathering all of the resources you need to learn the basics in one free to use site. I focus mostly on the skillsets that I think help create a well rounded technician, and I strive to provide in depth information that will be easy for anyone to understand.
About the author
My name is Nick Mason and I am a professional Stage Manager and proud member of Actors Equity. Although my main passion is stage management, I have well rounded professional experience in many different aspects of technical theatre and live production technology. I love learning new skills and techniques and sharing those new skills with others, because together our industry can run smoothly and create something that truly captivates audiences.
My favorite kind of production to work on is musical comedy or family musicals, because laughter helps make everything better. I love surfing and being outdoors, and any chance I get, I try to sneak out of the darkness of the theatre and into the light of day for some fun outdoors. I am sure some of those adventures will make their way into the blog as well.
